Kase was back at practice on Thursday and it looks like he may play in his first game since November 7th. Kase is projected to return on the Ducks third line and comes in with five goals and three assists (eight points) in 12 games this season.
Kase suffered a head injury in the Ducks’ loss to Calgary on Monday. The song winger has been moved to injured reserve so he will miss at least the next two games (@ COL - FRI / vs. BUF - SUN). Patrick Eaves took his spot in the lineup on Wednesday and will continue to do so going forward.
Kase left Tuesday’s game vs. Calgary and did not return after playing just 3:32 TOI. Kase missed Thursday’s morning skate and the Ducks announced pre-game that he is dealing with a head injury—he is day-to-day and questionable for Friday’s game in Colorado.
Kase, 21, has on assist in two games with the Ducks this season and will appear in his third NHL game on Sunday. Kase has picked up seven points (3G / 4A) in nine games with San Diego.
Kase, 20, was a seventh round pick (205th overall) in 2014 and this is his first NHL recall. Kase has picked up two goals and two assists (four points) in six games with San Diego this season.
