Maroon had a career-year while playing with Connor McDavid in 2016-17, but couldn’t quite find the same success this year. With his contract expiring at the end of the season and the Oilers out of the playoff hunt they had to trade him. Maroon made it seem possible that he could return to the Oilers this summer, but for now he heads to the Devils where he could find himself in the top-6.
Pat Maroon News
Maroon has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury and despite trade rumours swirling around, the Oilers won’t preserve the health of their winger as he suits up tonight in Anaheim. Maroon re-enters the lineup with 30 points (14G / 16A) in 57 games this season—he will replace Mark Letestu, who was traded to the Blue Jackets this afternoon.
Maroon has picked up six points (2G / 4A) in 10 games since being acquired from the Ducks at the trade deadline. He had been skating with Connor McDavid and Jordan Eberle, so his absence will open a nice spot in the lineup. Monitor his status during Tuesday’s morning skate.
Maroon, 27, has picked up just 13 points (4G / 9A) in 56 games this season after posting 34 (9G / 25A) in 71 last season. With the acquisition of Jamie McGinn, Maroon became expendable. He should get a bigger opportunity in Edmonton.
Maroon has just one goal and three assists in 24 games this season and will likely be a healthy scratch tonight with Nate Thompson expected to make his season debut vs. the Lightning.
Maroon missed last Friday’s game with an illness, but he will play on Wednesday vs. the Stars. He will skate on a line with Chris Wagner/Nate Thompson and Tim Jackman.
Maroon missed the third period in Wednesday’s game and will not play tonight because of an illness. With Maroon out, Stefan Noesen will make his NHL debut.
Maroon has zero points and a minus-3 rating in his last 10 games and with Matt Beleskey likely returning tonight, it looks like Maroon will take a seat.
Maroon had to be helped off of the ice this afternoon, but his upper-body injury is not believed to be serious. Monitor his status during the Ducks morning skate on Sunday.
Maroon has missed the last eight games with an MCL injury, but he has healed really fast and could return tonight in Dallas. Should he return, there is no way of knowing if he will be back on the top-line or not.
Maroon's original timetable was four weeks, but he is coming along better than expected which means he could potentially be back by next week. With Dany Heatley back and Matt Beleskey playing well, the Ducks likely won't rush Maroon, but sounds like he will be joining them in practice shortly.
Maroon suffered the injury in the Ducks win over the Sabres on Monday. He was moved to IR yesterday so we knew the injury was going to keep him out a bit and it turns out he will be out until the middle of November with an MCL sprain. This is a tough break for Maroon who had three assists in the first three games playing with Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf. Matt Beleskey is expected to continue to fill that spot, at least until Dany Heatley (groin) is healthy.
Maroon's designation on IR allows the Ducks to make some roster moves while he works his way back to full health. Maroon is eligible to come off of IR on October 21st. He had three assists in three games before getting hurt on Sunday.
Maroon was injured in the Ducks 5-1 win over the Sabres on Monday after being hit by Josh Gorges. He was reportedly walking with a noticeable limp after the game and has been ruled out for Tuesday's game and could miss a lot more time than that. He was settling in nicely on the Ducks top-line, recording an assist in each of the first three games. The Ducks will likely release a timetable for Maroon in the next day or two.
Maroon had two goals and an assist in 13 games with the Ducks last season.
Maroon has two goals in 11 games this season.
