Berglund (upper-body) will not play in Game 1.

Berglund, missed the season finale with an upper-body injury, was the most unlikely of the injured Blues to play in game 1. He did not skate this morning, while the rest of the team did. He is expected to be back at some point in the first round.

Berglund (upper-body) is out for Thursday's matchup with Boston.

St. Louis Blues center Patrik Berglund and the team have agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension worth $3.25 million, Blues General Manager Doug Armstrong confirmed Tuesday.

Berglund netted 17 goals in 48 games for fantasy owners last year but didn't provide much else. Still, reliable goal scoring is hard to come by and Berglund should be a good late round stash next season.

The 24-year-old Berglund has four goals and six points during a five-game scoring streak. He also has eight goals in his last 14 games.

Like Jeff Carter earlier in the year, Berglund is potting goals at a much higher clip than getting attributed for assists. He could be useful for you to help balance out a high assist / low goals player like St. Louis or Thornton.

"At this point in the year, compared to last year, his skating looks much, much stronger," coach Davis Payne said after Friday's practice. "So he's driving to some areas with the intention to put that puck on net. That's great.

Berglund should play a more physical game which could lead to an uptick in goals. The Swedish center scored a career high 22 goals but could be looking at 30 should he continue to center the top line. Expect a breakout year in his fourth season in the NHL.
