Hughes has missed the last four games for Vancouver with a lower-body injury and will be a game-time decision Tuesday vs. the Devils. The superstar defenseman has five points through his first five games to start the 2022-23 season while playing a career-high 27:14 ATOI.

Head coach Bruce Boudreau announced Monday that Hughes will miss the next few weeks with a lower-body injury. He had five assists through the first five games to start the season while averaging a career-high 27:14 TOI per game.

Hughes missed several practices with a non-COVID illness but was back on the ice for Tuesday's session. While he's expected to play in the season opener, monitor Hughes' status during the morning skate.

There has been a flu bug going through the Canucks' locker room and Hughes is battling is at the moment. He missed Tuesday's practice and was questionable to even join the team on the trip to Vegas.

We likely won't get an update on Hughes' status until closer to game-time but the Canucks recalled Oscar Fantenberg from Utica (AHL), which suggests that Hughes will miss at least one game.
