Tyler Tucker will be a healthy scratch on Friday, allowing Robert Bortuzzo to return to the Blues' lineup. Bortuzzo has only played two games this season, registering seven penalty minutes and zero points while averaging 9:38 time-on-ice.
Bortuzzo has yet to appear in any of the Blues' first five games but will draw into the lineup for the first time in 2023-24 Thursday as they take on Calgary. The 34-year-old had two goals, three assists, 30 SOG, 29 PIMs and a +9 plus/minus in 43 games played in 2022-23.
Bortuzzo has been out since January 7th due to a lower-body injury but has been activated from the injured reserve Thursday. The 30-year-old is not expected to join the Blues' lineup right away but when he does will be looking to add to the one goal, 19 SOG and 25 PIMs he has amassed across 30 games prior to the injury.
Bortuzzo will be available to return Wednesday after being activated from the injured reserve due to an upper-body injury. The 33-year-old has yet to pick up a point through ten games this season but has been his usual stay-at-home, steady self averaging only 12:03 TOI.
Bortuzzo left the Blues' previous game vs. Philadelphia after 9:08 TOI with an upper-body injury. Through 10 games, Bortuzzo has 10 games played he has zero points and nine PIMs with only five SOG. He heads to the injured reserve to make room for Tyler Tucker.
Bortuzzo has been out since Game 2 but will return to the lineup for Game 5 vs. the Wild. Bortuzzo has no points and a minus-1 rating while playing under 12 minutes per game in his first two games of the series.
Bortuzzo suffered an upper-body injury in Game 2 and will miss Game 3 as a result. Steven Santini will make his season debut if Marco Scandella (game-time decision) can't play.
Bortuzzo missed Tuesday's game in Colorado due to an undisclosed injury but is set to return to the lineup on Friday. Bortuzzo will replace Calle Rosen in the lineup vs. Vegas.

Bortuzzo was set to become a UFA at the end of the season but gets $950K AAV on his new two-year contract. Bortuzzo doesn't provide a lot of offence but is a rugged, penalty-killing defenseman for the Blues. Bortuzzo leads the team in Hits/60 (7.91) and is second in Blk/60 (5.04) in 37 games this season.
