Bennett (lower-body) skated on his own on Tuesday; hoping to return on Thursday.

Bennett will miss his second straight game with a lower-body injury but the Flames are hopeful he will play Thursday vs. the Panthers. Even if he does play, the former No.3 overall pick should be left on free agency--he has just two points (1G / 1A) and is playing just 12:40 ATOI in nine games this season.

The Flames have signed Sam Bennett to a two-year extension worth $5.1 million ($2.55M AAV).

After missing just one game in 2017 and 2018 combined, Bennett appeared in just 71 games last season but averaged the least ice-time of his career (13:17 TOI/GM). Bennett wrapped the season up with 27 points (13G / 14A). Bennett will likely be fighting with Michael Frolik for a spot on the Flames’ second line but will likely open the year in the bottom-6.

Bennett will be back in the Flames lineup on Saturday.

Bennett was a healthy scratch on Thursday, but will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Oilers. Bennett has been held off of the scoresheet for 10 games straight games and comes into tonight’s game with just 18 points (9G / 9A) in 47 games this season.

Bennett will be a healthy scratch on Thursday.

Bennett has not recorded a single point in 10 games and has just two goals in his last 16 games. The second-year forward has struggled to improve on last year’s pace and will come out of the lineup as a healthy scratch tonight. Michael Ferland (lower-body) will take his spot up-front.

Bennett (mid-body) will not play on Friday; listed as day-to-day.

Bennett played just 3:49 TOI before departing Wednesday’s game with an upper-body injury, that will keep him out of tonight’s game vs. the Coyotes. With Bennett sidelined, the Flames have recalled Ken Agostino from Stockton (AHL), who will make his season debut and Michael Frolik move onto the second power-play unit.
