Sam Montembeault News

Montembeault stopped nine of 10 shots after replacing Sergei Bobrovsky in the Panthers loss to the Golden Knights last Thursday. With Bobrovsky starting last night, Montembeault will go tonight in New Jersey. He has gone 4-2-1 with a 3.40 GAA and .889 SV% in nine games (five starts) this season, so look elsewhere for a goalie option on tonight's 11-game slate.

Sergei Bobrovsky was hurt in Saturday's practice and Montembeault's promotion suggests that he won't be available against Toronto. Montembeault is expected to serve as Chris Driedger's backup.

Montembeault has struggled as the Panthers' backup this season, posting a 3.31 GAA and .889 SV% in five appearances. Florida sent him to the AHL to try and find his game and recalled Chris Driedger, who has an impressive .938 SV% in the AHL this year.
