Varlamov gave up two goals on 38 shots in the Avs’ win over the Senators on Thursday. Varlamov has won two in a row while stopping 90 of 92 shots (.978 SV%). He will make his seventh straight start today—he is 4-2-0 with a 2.01 GAA and .950 SV% in the last six.

It was a ridiculous performance from Varly,who has been exceptional since returning to the crease. He has won four of six starts with a 1.79 GAA and .942 SV%. Tonight he faces a Sens team who have lost five of seven.

Despite the recent success, he draws a terrible matchup tonight vs. the 26-11-2 Blackhawks. He is 2-4-4 with a 3.63 GAA and .890 SV% on the road.
Varlamov allowed a single goal on 28 shots in the Avs’ shootout win over the Oilers on Friday. He has won three of four starts with a 1.68 GAA and .935 SV% since returning from injured reserve. Tonight he will face the Blue Jackets at home—Varly is 5-3-1 with a 2.08 GAA and .938 SV% at Pepsi Center this season.
Varlamov allowed three goals on 29 shots in the Avs’ win over the Flyers on Wednesday. The Avalanche will continue to ride Varly almost exclusively with no back-to-backs until January 12th-13th. He is 2-1-0 with a 1.95 GAA and .925 SV% since returning from a groin injury last week.
Varlamov gave up three goals on 25 shots in the Avs’ 3-0 loss to the Blues on Monday. He is 1-1-0 with a 1.50 GAA and .941 SV% in two games since returning from injury. Until further notice, the net belongs to Varlamov. He enters the final day of 2014 at 5-7-5 with a 3.01 GAA and .912 SV%.
Valamov stopped all 26 shots that he faced in the Avs’ 5-0 shutout win over the Blues last Tuesday. It was a nice return to the crease for Varly, who will start the vast majority of games heading forward. Tonight he will take on the Blues again, this time in St. Louis. He is 1-0-1 with a 0.96 GAA and .964 SV% in the first two meetings.
Varlamov (groin) has missed the last six games, but will be back between the pipes tonight vs. the Blues. In his only two starts in December, he has gone 0-1-1 with a 5.24 GAA and .836 SV%. He draws a tough matchup to return in—St. Louis ranks sixth in the NHL in scoring with 2.94 goals per game.
Varlamov skated and took shots on Sunday in Detroit and Patrick Roy said he is “95 percent and will likely start on Tuesday” but the team will decide for sure on Monday. Calvin Pickard continues to play extremely well, so there is no need to rush Varlamov back if he is not 100 percent.
Varlamov underwent an MRI on Monday and the results did not reveal anything positive for the Avalanche. Varlamov will miss a couple of weeks at least, which leaves the team with Calvin Pickard as their starter.
Varlamov is still battling a groin injury that cost him to miss six games from November 15th-December 3rd. There is no word on who will be called up, but if it is Calvin Pickard, he will get the start. Groin injuries with goalies are tricky, so Varly could be held out for awhile.

It was Varlamov’s first start since November 15th, but he will go again tonight in the second game of the Avs’ back-to-back. It hasn’t been a great two months for Varly, who has missed time with injuries and posted a 4-5-5 record with a 3.01 GAA and .914 SV%.
Varlamov stopped 23 of 25 shots in a win over the Devils in his last start back on November 15th. The Avs went 3-3-0 in the six games that Varly missed, but he will be back between the pipes tonight in Calgary. He is 4-5-4 with a 2.95 GAA and .918 SV% this season, but the Avs are playing better of late, making him an interesting buy-low candidate.
Varlamov will miss his sixth straight game when Calvin Pickard gets the start on Monday, but Varly is expected to return later in the week vs. Calgary.
Varlamov will miss his fifth straight game when Calvin Pickard starts on Saturday, but Varly could make his first since November 15th on Monday vs. the Canadiens.
Varlamov’s designation on IR is retroactive to November 15th, which means he is eligible to be activated whenever he is healthy. They moved him to IR so they could recall Karl Stollery from Lake Erie without having to send anyone down.
Varlamov missed Tuesday’s practice after he re-injured his groin in Saturday’s win over the Devils. He missed time last month with a groin injury and he is listed as day-to-day this time around. Calvin Pickard has been recalled from Lake Erie to back-up Reto Berra.
