As good as he has been, Varlamov draws a tough matchup with the Lightning in town—they’re second in the NHL in goal-scoring (3.86 GF/PG) through seven games.

Varlamov allowed two goals on 43 shots in Colorado’s loss in New York last Tuesday. Philipp Grubauer started the last two games, so they’ll come back to Varlamov tonight in Philadelphia. In his first two starts against the Flyers, Varlamov stopped 35 of 37 shots in a 5-2 win in Colorado on October 6th.

The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Varlamov, who now has a 1.75 GAA and .946 SV% through four starts. The veteran netminder has been great so far this season and can be trusted against a Rangers team that is averaging just 2.40 goals for per game so far.

Varlamov allowed one goal on 31 shots in Colorado’s win in Buffalo on Thursday. Varlamov has won each of his first three starts, stopping 85 of the 89 shots (.955 SV%) that he has faced. Varlamov has a tough matchup with the Flames in town, but catches a break with David Rittich getting the call for Calgary.

Varlamov allowed two goals on 37 shots in Colorado’s win over the Flyers on Saturday. Varlamov has won his first two starts, stopping 55 of 58 shots (.948 SV%) against the Wild and Flyers. He draws a healthy matchup tonight in Buffalo—the Sabres are averaging just 2.33 goals for through three games so far.

Varlamov enjoyed a strong 2018 season, winning 24 of his 51 games with a 2.68 GAA, .920 SV% and two shutouts. He will be pushed harder for starts this year with Philipp Grubauer in town, but that could help push the Russian netminder. Varlamov won both of his starts while only allowing two goals on 66 shots (.970 SV%) against the Wild last year.

Varlamov made 39 saves on 40 shots in Colorado’s win over the Golden Knights on Saturday. Varlamov has won five of his last seven starts while posting an impressive 1.97 GAA and .948 SV%. As good as he has been, he has a tough matchup in Vegas—he is 9-9-4 with a 3.09 GAA and .907 SV% on the road this year.

Varlamov was pulled after allowing five goals on 20 shots in Colorado’s 7-1 loss to the Kings on Thursday. Despite the rough outing, the Avalanche will stick with Varlamov vs. the Golden Knights this afternoon. The 29-year-old has gone 5-2-3 with a 2.46 GAA and .931 SV% in March.

Varlamov stopped 44 of 45 shots in Colorado’s win in Chicago on Tuesday. Varly is riding a five-game winning streak, stopping 182 of the 189 shots (.963 SV%) that he has faced. He stopped 25 of 27 shots that he faced in a 2-1 OT loss in his first start against the Kings this season.

Varlamov has won three of his last four starts while posting a strong 1.51 GAA and .958 SV% and tonight he will make his 18th consecutive appearance. Varly allowed two goals on 27 shots in a 2-1 OT loss in Chicago in his only start against them this season.

Varlamov allowed one goal on 45 shots in Colorado’s win in St. Louis last night. Varlamov has turned in back-to-back gems and has stopped 81 of the last 83 shots (.976 SV%) that he has faced. Varlamov will be in tough one the tail-end of a back-to-back vs. the Predators—he is 0-2-1 with a 4.32 GAA and .854 SV% in three games vs. Nashville this season.

Varlamov stopped all four shots that he faced after replacing Jonathan Bernier (head) in Colorado’s win over the Coyotes on Saturday. With Bernier back on the shelf, the crease is all Varlamov’s moving forward. Tonight he faces the Wild, who he beat on March 2nd, but has lost three in a row (all in OT) since, allowing a combined 11 goals on 102 shots (.892 SV%).
