Bobrovsky will start his first game since December 3. He missed more than a month with a groin injury that he suffered in that contest. Before getting hurt he was 10-11-2 with a 2.72 GAA and .909 SV%, not quite the year you would expect from the reigning Vezina Trophy winner. He will face a Rangers team who beat him 4-2 on November 7.

Bobrovsky, 25, was placed on IR on December 4 with a strained groin sustained during Columbus’ 1-0 home win over Tampa Bay the previous night. He has missed the last 12 games as a result of the injury. In 23 appearances this season, Bobrovsky is 10-11-2 with a 2.72 goals-against-average and a .909 save percentage. He has also posted one shutout.
Bob has been practicing and suiting up for game action is a great sign. He'll be probably to return starting Jan 4 vs. the Blues.
If things go according to plan, though, he could be back on the ice in game action very soon. After traveling with the team to Raleigh last week and working with Blue Jackets goaltending coach Ian Clark, Bobrovsky took part in an optional practice on Monday at Nationwide Arena and put some hard work in with Clark and some teammates. His original prognosis in early December was a 4-5 week recovery that put him on track to return sometime in the new year.
Bobrovsky is not ready to dress for the Blue Jackets but is progressing well and appears to be on face to return next week. He has been out since December 3 with a lower-body injury.
If Bobrovsky misses four weeks, he'll miss 12 games, if he misses five weeks, it'll be 15 games. This is a terrible break for last year's Vezina Trophy winner and the Blue Jackets who will have to turn to perennial back-up Curtis McElhinney as their number-1. Mike McKenna who was recalled today is expected to serve as McElhinney's backup.
Curtis McElhinney will start in Bobrovsky's place. Bobrovsky was injured while making a fantastic save in last night's 1-0 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Although he has not had the best first-third of the season, it would be a huge loss for the Blue Jackets if he is to miss an extended period of time.
Bobrovsky had just made his 18th stop - a glove save of a J.T. Brown breakaway while doing the splits -- when he stayed down for about a minute before being helped off the ice 4:13 into the third period. The 2012-13 Vezina Trophy winner will have an MRI on Wednesday. "I don't know if the answer we'll have tomorrow, but definitely in the next few days," head coach Todd Richards said. "We'll have a better idea."
Bobrovsky allowed two goals on 27 shots in a win over the Oilers on Friday. He closed out November 5-5-2 with a 3.00 GAA and .896 SV%. It certainly is not the season that Bobrovsky had last season and he is now a matchup friendly play instead of a must-start like he was in the shortened campaign.
Bobrovsky allowed four goals on 29 shots in a loss to the Predators on Wednesday. He will get another crack at the Oilers after giving up four goals on 18 shots and being pulled in the second period. It is not the best matchup considering the Oilers have won four out of their last five while outscoring their opponents 19-8.
Bobrovsky stopped all 18 shots that he faced in a 6-0 beat-down of the Maple Leafs on Monday night. It was Bob's first shutout of the season and eighth win to move him to 8-10-2. Tonight will be his first start vs. his former divisional foe after Columbus' move to the Eastern Conference. He was 4-1-0 with a 2.59 GAA and .921 SV% against the Predators last season.
Bobrovsky allowed six goals on 35 shots in a 6-2 loss to the Canucks on Friday. It was a tough outing for Bob, who's rough November continues. He is 3-4-2 with a 3.38 GAA and .889 SV% this month and will take on a good Maple Leafs team in Toronto tonight. He is 4-6-2 on the road this season.

Bobrovsky bounced back nicely on Wednesday. He stopped 23 of 24 shots for the win over the Flames after being pulled the night before. The Blue Jackets continue their West Coast road trip tonight against Vancouver. Bob was great against the Canucks last season, going 1-0-2 with a 0.62 GAA, .981 SV% and one shutout.
Bobrovsky was pulled in the second period on Tuesday after giving up four goals on 18 shots vs. Edmonton. The Blue Jackets will look to get him back on track immediately by getting him back in net tonight vs. Calgary. The last time he faced the Flames he allowed four goals in a loss.
Bobrovsky allowed a single goal on 30 shots in a win over the Senators on Sunday. Goalie Bob is 2-2-2 with a 2.93 GAA and .904 SV% in six starts in November. Tonight he faces the Oilers in Edmonton, Bobrovsky is 3-4-2 on the road this season.
Bobrovsky gave up three goals on 31 shots in his second straight OT loss on Thursday. He was given Friday night off, so he should be well rested and ready to bounce back on Sunday against the Senators. With Marian Gaborik sidelined for at least a month, things just got even more difficult for Goalie Bob. He is not as reliable as he was in 2012-13.

Bobrovsky gave up four goals on 34 shots in an overtime loss to the Capitals on Tuesday. Bobrovsky has lost four of his last five starts and will be in tough tonight when Columbus takes on the Bruins. He catches a break as he faces Chad Johnson opposed to Tuukka Rask.
