There is no word on when Oshie may have suffered the concussion, but it will keep him sidelined for at least tonight. Concussions are a tough injury to put a timetable on, so consider him day-to-day and likely to miss a couple of games.
Oshie had been probable to play all day and it looks as if he'll finally return for Game 2.
Oshie missed the final two games of the regular season with a head injury that he suffered on a hit by Mike Rupp last Thursday. He skated in the Blues' morning skate, but will be held out of game 1. He is expected to return at some point in the first round.
Oshie skated again on Tuesday and said he is feeling better. Blues' head coach Ken Hitchcock said that all of his injured players will be back at some point in round 1, but Oshie might not be ready for game 1. "You've got to see how I am tonight, how I am tomorrow morning," said Oshie. "It really is a day to day thing. If I can, if medically it's OK and I'm not going to hurt myself worse, or hurt my team, I'll be in."
This is no surprise after Oshie had to be helped off of the ice yesterday. There is no word on how Oshie is doing, the Blues could be keeping him out for precautionary reasons with the playoffs next week.
Oshie was elbowed in the head by Wild tough-guy Mike Rupp. Oshie went down and took awhile to get to his feet. Rupp was assessed a match-penalty and will have a phone hearing Friday. The Blues are already without David Backes, so losing Oshie right before the playoffs would put a huge dent in their lineup. Consider him day-to-day until we get a more detailed report of his injury.
Oshie missed Monday's game to be with his wife for the birth of their first child, but he will be back tomorrow to take on the Blackhawks. Oshie will skate on the second line with Dmitrij Jaskin and Vladimir Sobotka.
