It was a big win for Greiss because the starter's job appears to be his for the foreseeable future with Smith's status still uncertain. Greiss will make his first start since December 10, when he stopped 29 of 30 shots in a 3-1 win over the Avalanche. Greiss has been one of the NHL's best spot-start options this season going 4-2-0 with a 2.20 GAA and .926 SV% in five starts. That being said, tonight's matchup with the Ducks is not an ideal spot-start setup.

Extremely late confirm/switch by the Coyotes. Smith was scheduled to start but did not even take shots in warmups which suggests there is something wrong with him. We will get an updated when available.
