Krug missed Wednesday’s practice for “rest” reasons, but is still listed as a game-time decision for tonight’s contest. Krug has registered 10 assists in 14 games this season.
Krug did not participate in the Bruins morning skate because of an illness, but he could still be in the lineup tonight in Detroit. Boston has recalled Joe Morrow from Providence (AHL) in case Krug is not available tonight.
Krug, 23, was set to become a restricted free agent in the offseason. Krug is on-pace to set a career-high with 41 points. So far he has 11 goals and 20 assists (31 points) in 59 games.
Krug was listed as a game time decision but is on the ice for warmups, taking line rushes with Zach Trotman, so it looks like he will be back in the lineup after a four-game absence.
Krug missed the last four games with a broken finger, but it looks like he could be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Devils. The Bruins recently lost David Warsofsky for 2-4 weeks, so he would simply slide into that spot. He has two goals and four assists in 11 games this season. Krug has averaged 20:28 TOI this season, but with Zdeno Chara still sidelined, expect him to play closer to 25 minutes.
Krug missed his four fourth game in a row with a broken finger he suffered on October 28th. Krug is one week into a 2-3 week timeline and has reportedly been limited in what he can do with his hand. Look for Krug to continue to practice and progress and could return by next weekend.
Krug will miss his fourth straight game tonight but is progressing well. "I'm told it'll be up to [Krug] how quickly he gets that feeling that he can hold a stick properly and that it's not going to be an issue,” said Claude Julien. “"He's doing well . . . the finger is much, much better."
Krug was diagnosed with a broken finger and is expected to miss 2-3 weeks. Returning to the ice is promising, but it remains to be seen how much he will be able to do with the stick in his hand. He could be back by next week, but that is best case scenario.
Krug broke his finger when he was slashed against the Wild on Tuesday night. He remained in the game and played a season-high 24:07 and recorded one assist. However, the bigger news is he will be out 2-3 weeks which leaves an already thin blueline even more shorthanded. With Krug out, expect Joe Morrow to get into the lineup on Thursday vs. Buffalo.
Krug, 23, had 14 goals and 26 assists (40 points) with a plus-18 rating in his rookie season. The 5-foot-9 defenseman has a ton of offensive talent and will play a prominent role on the Bruins' power-play this season. The $1.4 million dollar cap-hit is a one-year steal for the Bruins. He will be a restricted free-agent at the end of next season.
Krug was a healthy scratch on Thursday, but will return this afternoon with Andrej Meszaros serving as the healthy scratch. Krug's 13 goals is fifth in the NHL amongst defensemen.
Dougie Hamilton will draw back into the lineup with Krug taking a seat. Krug has a goal and two assists in eight games since the NHL resumed action. Tonight, will be the first game that Krug has missed this season.
Krug was given a maintenance day on Friday, but did take part in the Bruins morning skate today. The Bruins have been battling injuries on the blueline all season, but Krug is one defenseman who has not missed a game. He has 20 points (8G / 12A) in 41 games.
Krug seems very likely to play tonight after participating in practice the last two days. Monitor his status during pre-game warmups, but it seems like he will play. Krug is tied for the NHL lead amongst defensemen with seven goals.
Krug's availability for Thursday's game never really seemed in jeopardy, but this ensures that he will be in the lineup tomorrow. The 22-year-old defenseman has enjoyed a great start to the season collecting seven goals and 16 points in 27 games. The seven goals in tied for the league lead amongst D-men. He should be activated in all formats.
Krug posted 13 goals and 32 assists (45 points) in 63 games in the AHL with the Providence Bruins. He only appeared in one game with Boston this season, in which he had one assist.
Krug had one assist and was a minus-1 in 15:46 on Wednesday.
Krug is one of the prospects available on the trade market. Matt Bartkowski could also be a trade chip. Both could be in tonight's lineup for rival scouts to evaluate prior to a deal. Krug is the more offensively dynamic of the two young defensemen and has 10 goals and 24 assists in 55 games for Providence.
