Dermott (shoulder) returned to practice on Thursday.

Dermott, who is expected to miss the first 12-to-14 games of the season, practiced with his teammates for the first time since undergoing shoulder surgery. Rasmus Sandin had a great preseason and looked solid in his NHL debut, which will allow the Maple Leafs to be patient with Dermott.

Dermott will undergo shoulder surgery and is expected to miss at least six months.

Dermott will undergo shoulder surgery on Friday and will miss the start of the 2019-20 season. Based on the original timetable, Dermott is not expected to be back until early-November, so look for him to miss at least one month, which will allow the Maple Leafs to get a look at a few of their young defensemen.

The Maple Leafs have assigned Travis Dermott to Toronto (AHL).

Dermott was sent to the AHL to get the Maple Leafs roster to 23 with William Nylander joining the team after signing a six-year extension on Saturday. Dermott was the one demoted because he is waiver exempt. However, the Maple Leafs are trying to trade another player from their active roster and Dermott would then re-join the team for Tuesday’s game.

Dermott will be back in the Maple Leafs lineup on Thursday.

Dermott will be playing his first game since October 20th tonight vs. the Stars. Dermott originally missed two games due to an illness but was a healthy scratch on Monday. Dermott will have a new D-partner with Justin Holl make his season debut alongside of him.

Dermott is day-to-day with an ankle injury; won’t play on Monday.

Dermott suffered what appeared to be a serious ankle injury vs. the Jets on Saturday, but MRI revealed no structural damage for the rookie defenseman. Dermott is considered day-to-day and will likely be dealt with caution during the final week of the regular season.

Dermott will be a healthy scratch on Wednesday.

Dermott had one assist with three shots and two PIMS in his first two NHL games. Tonight he will take a seat because Mike Babcock said he is in a rotation with Andreas Borgman and Connor Carrick, so look for him to replace Borgman in the lineup when the Maple Leafs get back from their bye week.

The Maple Leafs have recalled Travis Dermott from Toronto (AHL).

The Maple Leafs lack depth on the blueline so Dermott will get his first shot with the big club after collecting two goals and 15 assists (17 points) in 26 games with the Marlies this season. The 2015 second round pick (No.34 overall) has seven goals and 34 assists (41 points) in 85 career AHL regular season games. Look for him to make his NHL debut on Saturday.
