The Kings have acquired Troy Stecher from the Red Wings for a 2022 seventh-round draft pick.

Stecher is in the final year of a two-year contract worth $1.7 million. Stecher provides the Kings with some serious injury concerns at the moment. They've been without Drew Doughty, Mikey Anderson and Matt Roy for the last few weeks. There was also a report earlier in the weekend that Doughty's injury may be more serious than originally feared, so Stecher brings a veteran presence to a team relying on a lot of young defensemen right now.

Stecher underwent wrist surgery and will be out until after the Olympic break.

Stecher will be out until at least late February after undergoing wrist surgery. Stecher played a huge role for the Red Wings last year (17:19 ATOI) but the additions of Moritz Seider and Nick Leddy has pushed him down the depth chart (14:28 ATOI), so this isn't a huge loss for the Red Wing, who will continue to use Gustav Lindstrom on the third pair.

Stecher (undisclosed) will be sidelined for at least a couple of weeks.

The Red Wings provided a more clear timeline for Stecher but still have not disclosed the nature of his injury. With Stecher out, Gustav Lindstrom should continue to skate with Marc Staal moving forward.

The Red Wings have signed Troy Stecher to a two-year deal worth $3.4 million ($1.7M AAV).

Stecher is an extremely mobile, puck-moving defenseman that will help the Red Wings' blueline immensely. Stecher set a new career-high in goals (5) last season but went from 19:55 ATOI to 15:21 as he was pushed down the Canucks' depth chart. Expect him to be back near 19:00 ATOI as he moves into the Red Wings' top-4.

Stecher left Sunday’s game with a lower-body injury and did not return.

The Canucks did not have an update on Stecher post-game, but head coach Travis Green said “it was a knee-on-knee hit, so we’ll see what happens.” Consider Stecher as questionable for Tuesday's game in Minnesota.

Stecher (mumps) is hopeful that he will play on Tuesday.

Stecher missed Saturday’s game vs. the Sharks because of the mumps, but was on the ice for Monday’s practice and is expected to play Tuesday vs. the Red Wings. Stecher leads all Canucks’ defensemen with 18 points (2G / 16A) in 51 games this season.

Stecher will be in the Canucks’ lineup on Tuesday.

Stecher sat out of Monday’s game in Brooklyn, but will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Rangers. Stecehr will replace Philip Larsen and comes into play with one assist and a minus-3 rating in four games with the Canucks this season. The rookie defenseman will skate on the top-pair with Alex Edler and should see some power-play time as well.
