Tye Kartye News

Kartye's demotion seems to be nothing more than for cap related purposes and is expected to be figured out by early this weekend. The 22-year-old has played well in his first NHL season, with six goals, 11 points, 59 SOG, 25 PIMs and a -2 plus/minus in 30 games played.

After having a productive postseason for the Kraken, in which he scored five points (3G / 2A) in 10 games, Kartye is expected to make his regular-season debut against the Predators. The undrafted winger will likely suit up on the fourth line alongside Pierre-Edouard Bellemare and Kailer Yamamoto.

Kartye had 28 goals, 29 assists, 74 PIMs and a +17 plus/minus through 72 games with Coachella Valley (AHL) this season and will make his NHL debut in Game 5 as he replaced the injured Jarrod McCann on Seattle's top-line. The 21-year-old was signed as an undrafted free agent from the Soo Greyhounds (OHL) a year ago.
