Tyler Seguin News
Seguin missed game one and skated as an extra in the morning skate, but he said he is good to go tonight the decision is up to head coach Lindy Ruff whether or not he plays. Monitor his status when the Stars hit the ice for warmups at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Stars head coach Lindy Ruff said if it were game seven that Seguin would likely be in the lineup tonight, but he will sit out of game one because he needs more practice time. Despite missing tonight’s contest it looks like the 24-year-old will be in the lineup for Game 2 on Saturday.
Seguin took part in Monday’s practice, but skated in as an extra, which suggests that he won’t be ready to go to begin the playoffs. Seguin is three and a half weeks into his original 3-4 week timetable, so Seguin’s return appears to be on the horizon.
Seguin showed up late for a practice on Friday and will be a healthy scratch on Saturday as a result. Seguin will finish the season with 37 goals and 40 assists (77 points) in 71 games.
Seguin missed just three weeks after being given a 3-8 week timetable to return. It was super-fast recovery and the Stars were elated to have him in the lineup last night, as he potted two goals in the Stars 5-4 loss vs. Tampa Bay. Despite missing 10 games, Seguin remains just nine points back from the NHL scoring lead.
Seguin was given a 3-8 week time table to return from his knee injury and today makes the three-week point to the day. It was a tremendously fast return for the 23-year-old, who has 59 points (29G / 30A) in 55 games this season.
Seguin is taking part in line rushes which is a good sign that he will play tonight. We have to wait for official word from the team.
The Stars announced on Friday that Seguin would not be playing tonight, but he will now take part in warmups and the Stars will make a decision on his status after. He is an ultra-competitive guy, so it seems like there is a pretty good chance he will play.
Seguin was a full participant on Friday, but will be held out of Saturday’s game against the Lightning, but the Stars are hopeful he can return next Tuesday in Philadelphia. Saturday marks the three week mark in a 3-6 week timetable.
Seguin returned to the ice last Saturday and returned to practice this morning, which was a big step in his recovery from that knee injury. He won’t play tonight and likely won’t play on Saturday, but coach Lindy Ruff said he could be back within the week.
Seguin has been out since February 13th, but today showed that he is progressing way ahead of scheduled and could be back much sooner than expected. The Stars should release an updated timetable soon.
Seguin resumed skating on Saturday, which is quite a feat considering how serious his knee injury was believed to be. He is reportedly way ahead of schedule, which is excellent news for the Stars.
The original timetable the Stars put on Seguin was 2-4, but now it sounds like he could be out until mid-to-late March. The Stars had just pulled within striking distance of the playoffs, but this one hurts.
Seguin will miss at least 14 days with a knee injury after last night's hit from Dmitry Kulikov. Kulikov will have a hearing and is likely to be suspended for at least five games, but that will be much less than Seguin misses. If he misses two weeks he will miss the Stars next seven games.
Seguin suffered the lower-body injury on a questionable low hit from Dmitry Kulikov last night. His movement to IR means that Seguin will miss at least the next three games, but there is no word on how long he will be out past that.
Seguin left Friday’s game with a lower-body injury with just seven minutes left in the game. He was hit around the knees by Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov and had to be helped off of the ice. Seguin will be re-evaluated on Saturday and the Stars should release more information after that.
