Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, July 4, that the club has acquired forwards Loui Eriksson, Matt Fraser, Reilly Smith and defenseman Joe Morrow from the Dallas Stars in exchange for forwards Rich Peverley, Tyler Seguin and defenseman Ryan Button.

Seguin gets an opportunity to join a team in a rebuilding stage with a cup run already under his belt - ideal for this stage in his career. Look for him to get first line minutes with Jamie Benn and potentially be a solid middle round fantasy pickup.

Tyler Seguin, who was moved back to wing from center midway through the first period of Saturday night's 2-1 loss at Montreal, found himself wearing a grey sweater and skating on the third line along with Daniel Paille, Chris Kelly and Jay Pandolfo

Seguin, who had been switched from wing to center Brad Marchand and Jaromir Jagr when Patrice Bergeron was injured, was dropped down to the third line with Paille, and Gregory Campbell was promoted to center Marchand and Jagr on the second line.

Bruins forward Tyler Seguin has four goals in his previous four games.

Seguin was held off the scoresheet vs. Ottawa but has 6 goals in 7 games in March. He isn't offering much value in the assist or powerplay point department but those opportunities will come as long as he keeps finding the back of the net. Playing the Panthers should help him increase that total.

Julien on Seguin: "He's in the lineup tonight... He missed a game, he's paid his dues... Page turned and we've moved on" ^BB

Seguin was scratched for disciplinary reasons but expect him to get right back into the lineup. The sophomore has 13 goals and 25 points in 25 games but 11 of those points came in a six-game scoring binge.

Tyler Seguin took a slash on the right leg from the Sharks’ Benn Ferriero just before the Bruins’ pulled goalie Tim Thomas tonight and he did not return to the game, but he said he was OK after the game.

Sounds like Seguin will be OK and won't miss any playing time. Through seven games this season he has two goals and eight points. Expect a further update on how the Bruins will handle this injury.
