Vinni Lettieri News
Lettieri has 16 goals, 21 assists, 26 PIMs and a +4 plus/minus through 41 games with Providence (AHL) and has been recalled for the first time Tuesday. Lettieri has previously played in 82 NHL games across four seasons with Anaheim and the New York Rangers, with seven goals, 11 assists, and 125 SOG.
The Ducks will be without Ryan Getzlaf, Isac Lundestrom and Jakob Silfverberg on Thursday, so Lettieri, Danny O'Regan and Buddy Robinson were called up from the AHL. Lettieri has scored five goals with three assists (eight points) in 17 NHL games this season.
Lettieri was a healthy scratch in Boston on Monday but will replace Derek Grant (lower-body) in the lineup on Wednesday. Lettieri has scored four goals with three assists (seven points) in 15 games this season.
Lettieri was a healthy scratch for the last two games after Ryan Getzlaf returned to the lineup. Lettieri had a nice showing his call-up scoring two goals on 13 shots in five games.
In his first season in the Ducks' organization, Lettieri had 14 goals and 12 assists (26 points) in 22 AHL games. He was held pointless in five NHL games and will likely report to San Diego (AHL) to start the 2022 campaign.
Lettieri has been a healthy scratch for the last six games but will suit up for the third time on Wednesday. Lettieri will replace Troy Terry, who is out with an upper-body injury.
Lettieri spent most of the 2019 season in the AHL, ranking fourth among Hartford skaters with 48 points (23G / 25A) in 48 games. He played sparingly with the Rangers, picking up just three points (1G / 2A) in 27 games. The Rangers added some big names up front this offseason, likely pushing Lettieri back to the AHL to start 2020.
Lettieri, 24, has not recorded a point in 18 games with the Rangers this season, but has 27 points (12G / 15A) in 29 AHL games.
The Rangers don’t play until Saturday so they have sent some waiver exempt players to the AHL to get playing time and to get some cap savings. Lettieri has three goals and two assists in four AHL contests this season.
