Willie Mitchell is not expected to play tomorrow
Davis Drewiske replaced Mitchell on the blue line last night and could stay in the lineup tomorrow. While Mitchell is an excellent defensive player, he has no fantasy hockey value.

This injury is likely related to the one that recently sidelined him. Look for Alec Martinez to draw back in.

Willie Mitchell is once again a full participant in practice. Moreau’s presumed removal from the roster tomorrow — teams will have until 9 a.m. Pacific time to put in claims — would clear up a roster spot for Mitchell.

Considering how close Mitchell was to playing tonight, he should be a given for Sunday's tilt. He has a goal and six points in 25 games but his value lies in clearing the crease.

Willie Mitchell once again did some late-practice conditioning skating, and Terry Murray indicated that Mitchell is close to a return, but it won’t be tonight.
Mitchell should return within the next few games. Expect the defensive pairings to remain the same for tonight's game. -
#LAKings defenseman Willie Mitchell is about to take the ice. It will be his 1st skate since suffering a lower body injury last Thursday.
Good news as Mitchell takes the next step towards his recovery. His plus-4 rating is ranked second among d-men, one behind rookie Slava Voynov.
“I hope not. I don’t know that. We haven’t got a full report yet. The doctors, trainers are busy evaluating and they’ll probably let me know before I get away here tonight. We’ll have a better idea tomorrow.”
Mitchell was limited to only one shift last night and could be out a substantial amount of time. Expect the team to insert Davis Drewiske back into the lineup.
Mitchell made it through the season just fine — with the exception of a couple injuries that had nothing to do with his head — and this summer, things were back to normal for the 34-year-old defenseman.
Mitchell scored five goals and 10 points through 57 games for the Kings last season. Those numbers are more-than-likely his ceiling but an increase in plus/minus could be expected.
