PointsBet Daily Picks: Taking the over on Maple Leafs vs. Coyotes

Tyler Yaremchuk: Just a busy, busy Monday around the NHL, so let’s dig into it, courtesy of our friends over at PointsBet Canada. Starting — this is a play that I’m a little nervous about, but I’m sticking with it. Penguins -1.5, it sounds like Casey DeSmith is gonna get the start, but there’s still plenty of reasons why I like the Penguins in this matchup. They’re outscoring their opposition 7–1 at 5-on-5 so far; the Habs are an even 5–5, so the Penguins should have a pretty big advantage at 5-on-5 and their power play’s humming along at 40 percent right now.

I like the Penguins, despite the DeSmith start, I’m still taking them on the Puckline at +110. I’m also taking Sidney Crosby to pick up an assist at -130 in that hockey game, he’s been red-hot to start the year as you guys talked about.

In that Leafs/Arizona game, it’s Källgren vs. Vejmelka and I like the over. PointsBet has it at 7 here on the main board, but actually I’m going to take it at over 6.5 and take a bit of a worse payout at -120. The Leafs averaging 5.66 goals per game but the ‘Yotes are all the way up at 8.2 goals per game. The Källgren effect, I think he gives up a few, I do think the Leafs get their offense going as well, so I’m taking the over there.
