Projecting the Top 50 in Points for 2020

Every year I roll out full projections for the Top 300 players as a part of the DailyFaceoff Draft Kit.

Our Draft Kit will be offered for FREE again this year and will be posted across the site in the coming weeks. With the 2019-20 NHL regular season quickly approaching, here’s a glance at my projected top 50 scorers.

Full projections will consist of Goals, Assists, Points, Shots, Penalty Minutes, Power Play Points, Hits and Blocked Shots.

Last season, Nikita Kucherov ran away with the scoring title, scoring 41 goals and 87 assists (128 points) in 82 games. Over the last two years, Kucherov ranks first with 228 points, four points clear of Connor McDavid (224).

In 2020, I have McDavid wrestling the scoring title back from Kucherov, scoring 44 goals with 75 assists (119 points) in 82 games. Alex Ovechkin, who has won the Rocket Richard (Most Goals) two years in a row, is projected to make it three straight with 47 goals on 369 shots (12.7 percent).
