Pitlick was originally expected to miss two weeks but underwent surgery this week and will miss at least two more months. This essentially ends Pitlick’s season but would put him on target to play in the playoffs if the Stars qualify.

DiPietro is one of the league’s top goaltending prospects but has struggled since a midseason trade to the Ottawa 67’s, where he is 7-2-0 despite a 2.82 GAA and .896 SV%. DiPietro will backup Jacob Markstrom vs. the Capitals because Thatcher Demko tweaked something in warmups on Monday.

Rask stopped all 24 shots that he faced in the Bruins shutout win in Washington on Sunday. In his last 10 starts, Rask has not lost in regulation, going 7-0-2 with a 1.70 GAA, .942 SV% and two shutouts. Rask has been on a tear and tonight he faces the Islanders for the second time—he stopped 28 of 29 shots in a 2-1 shoutout win over them in late-November.

Korpisalo allowed three goals on 25 shots in the Blue Jackets loss to the Canadiens on January 18th. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Korpisalo, who is 4-2-1 with a 3.18 GAA and .891 SV% on home-ice this season. The 24-year-old has faced the Blues once this season, allowing four goals on 37 shots in a 7-4 win (Oct.25).

Pitlick has missed the last two games and is expected to miss at least two more weeks. With Pitlick out until mid-February, expect Denis Gurianov to remain with the big club.

Jokiharju appeared in five of the last six games before the All-Star break after returning home from the World Juniors. He had just one assist during that stretch and the addition of Slater Koekkoek allows Jokiharju to go to the minors.

Rask missed Tuesday’s game against the Jets but was on the ice for Wednesday’s practice and is expected to be available for Thursday’s game. Monitor Rask’s status during the Bruins morning skate to see if he will start or backup Jaroslav Halak.

Johnson missed the Lightning’s final game before the All-Star break/bye week but will play Wednesday. Johnson has collected 18 goals and 16 assists (34 points) in 47 games this season—but just one assist in his last five games.

Pitlick was hurt vs. the Kings on January 17th and missed their game vs. the Jets on the 19th. Pitlick’s move to IR opened up a roster spot for the Stars to recall Roope Hintz from Texas (AHL).

Cehlarik played in the final three games before the All-Star break, scoring two goals and one assist in three games. That mini hot-streak was enough for the Bruins to want him to stay on the active roster over a struggling Ryan Donato.

Rask was forced to leave the Bruins game vs. the Rangers back on January 19th following a collision with Filip Chytil in which Rask sustained a concussion. The Bruins moved him to IR and turn things over the Jaroslav Halak in the immediate future. Zane McIntyre has been recalled from Providence (AHL) to serve as Halak’s backup on Tuesday.

Jokiharju was a healthy scratch against the Capitals on Sunday but will replace Carl Dahlstrom on Tuesday. Jokiharju has just one assist, a minus-3 rating and two shots on goal in four games since returning from the World Juniors.

Korpisalo allowed one goal on 30 shot in the Blue Jackets win over the Devils on Tuesday. Korpisalo has been playing great lately, stopping 93 of the last 98 shots (.949 SV%) that he faced. Additionally, Korpisalo comes in at 4-1-1 with a 3.20 GAA and .893 SV% on home-ice this season.

Johnson was forced to leave Thursday’s game vs. the Maple Leafs with a lower-body injury that will likely keep him out of the lineup on Saturday. Alex Killorn moved up to the second line with Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov with Johnson held off of the ice on Friday.

Cehlarik was called up because Jake DeBrusk was dealing with a lower-body injury but DeBrusk will play. So Cehlarik will replace David Backes, who comes out as a healthy scratch. The 23-year-old winger has four points (1G / 3A) in 17 career NHL games and 29 points (10G / 19A) in 37 games with Providence this season.
