Despite losing his last contest, the Sabres will turn to Luukkonen between the pipes for the third straight game on Saturday. Luukkonen was excellent in a 2-1 losing effort to the Dallas Stars on Tuesday, saving 28 of 38 shots (.933 SV%). The 24-year-old Luukkonen started the season as the third-string netminder for the Sabres but has deservedly earned his way into being the go-to guy between the pipes.

After getting the night off on the back end of a back-to-back on Tuesday, Georgiev will return to the crease for the sixth time in the last seven games. Georgiev has been excellent lately, posting a .938 SV% across his last three games (2-0-1) while allowing two or fewer goals in each contest, his first stretch of that calibre since the opening week of the season. That said, the Avalanche are +122 road underdogs on Thursday against a Carolina Hurricanes club that saw their three-game winning streak end with a 3-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday.

Lyon has emerged as the go-to guy between the pipes for the Red Wings and will start on Saturday when the team returns to the ice for their first game since the All-Star break. Lyon has a 2.51 GAA and .922 SV% in 21 games (13-6-2) but will be hard-pressed for a victory against the high-scoring Vancouver Canucks.

With Jacob Trouba returning from a two-game suspension, Jones will be a healthy scratch for the Rangers on Wednesday. The 23-year-old Jones has been semi-productive from the blueline in limited action with the Rangers this season, scoring five points (1G / 4A) in 17 games.

Luukkonen and the Sabres will return to the ice on Tuesday for their first game since the All-Star break. In his last outing, Luukkonen saved 23 of 25 shots in a 5-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks and has generally been the more relied-upon Sabres' netminder lately, starting seven of the last eight games (4-3-0). The Sabres are +144 home underdogs on Tuesday against the Dallas Stars, who have points in five straight games (4-0-1).

Georgiev will return to the crease for the fifth straight game on Monday night when the Avalanche face off against his former team, the New York Rangers. Georgiev is riding a three-game winning streak, saving 85 of 92 shots (.924 SV%) and has been stellar in limited action against his former team, posting a 1.38 GAA and .960 SV% in two contests (1-0-1). The Avalanche have won three straight but are slight -102 road underdogs on Monday.

Lyon will return to the crease for the seventh straight game on Wednesday as the Red Wings look to extend their winning streak to three games before the All-Star break. Lyon has been exceptional during his two-game winning streak, saving 58 of 60 shots (.967 SV%), including one shutout. The Red Wings are -120 home favourites against an Ottawa Senators club with points in six of their last seven outings (4-1-2).

Quinn suffered the injury during Saturday's game in San Jose. The only initial update given by the team was that it was more serious than a day-to-day situation, and that was certainly accurate given the eight-week timeline announced today. Quinn was enjoying a nice start to his season after returning from an Achilles injury in mid-December, registering five goals and seven assists in 17 games. The timeline of his latest injury puts him on track to return around the end of March.

Georgiev will start for the fourth straight game on Wednesday evening and attempt to extend Colorado's winning streak to three games. Georgiev has allowed three or more goals in eight of his last 10 games, and despite posting an ugly .888 SV%, he has salvaged an impressive 7-3-0 record. The 27-year-old Georgiev has not been consistently reliable at keeping the puck out of the net this season but has been successful at accumulating wins, a trend likely to continue on Friday as the Avalanche are -146 home favourites against a Los Angeles Kings club that has lost four of their last five (1-3-1).

Benson will get the night off on Wednesday as the Sabres are set to play their second game in as many nights. Eric Robinson will draw into the lineup in his place.

Bryson will draw in for the injured Mattias Samuelsson (undisclosed). Bryson is yet to register a point in three games with the Sabres this season.
