Kane has had concussion issues throughout his career and has been sent back to Raleigh to be evaluated. Stefen Noesen is the only reserve forward in San Jose, so he'll step in for Kase.

Stillman appeared in 52 games with the Blackhawks in 2022, scoring two goals with 10 assists (12 points), while delivering 122 hits and blocking 67 shots. Stillman is likely insurance for Tyler Myers, who suffered a lower-body injury this week.

Smith was a first-round pick in 2018 and had a nice rookie season (2G / 21A in 48 games) but struggled in his second season. The move to Pittsburgh provides the Penguins with a little salary relief for this season and a defenseman with some untapped offensive potential. Swapping Marino for Smith is certainly a downgrade defensively for Pittsburgh.

Stromwall was an undrafted free agent out of Sweden that spent one season with the Rangers' AHL affiliate in 2017. He had been in Sweden and the KHL since 2018, most recently scoring 19 goals with 13 assists (32 points) in 37 games with Minsk Dynamo (KHL) in 2022.
