Carolina Hurricanes News

Jost has been reassigned to Chicago (AHL).

Jost has played the previous seven games for the Hurricanes but will return to the Chicago Wolves (AHL). Jost scored three goals and added three assists in 43 games with the Sabres last season. He signed one-year deal worth $775K with Carolina in the off-season.

Martin is in the starter's crease at Carolina's morning skate.

Pyotr Kochetkov left the Hurricanes' previous game after a collision in overtime, temporarily leaving the crease to Martin. The 29-year-old Martine has been limited to only five appearances this season (1-2-1), posting a 3.21 GAA and .870 SV%, but could forced into more action if Kochetkov is out of the lineup for an extended time. The Hurricanes enter Monday's contest as -126 home favorites against the Dallas Stars, fresh off a 4-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Kochetkov (upper-body) is questionable for Monday's game vs. Dallas.

Kochetkov left Saturday's game in overtime following a collision with Zach Werenski. The Hurricanes recalled Yaniv Perets from Chicago (AHL) on Sunday, suggesting that Kochetkov won't be available for Monday's game vs. Dallas. The Hurricanes have yet to provide an update on Kochetkov, but it would be a crushing blow if he misses an extended period of time. The Hurricanes are already without Frederik Andersen (knee) for the next 8-to-12 weeks.

The Hurricanes have recalled Yaniv Perets from Chicago (AHL).

Pyotr Kochetkov left Saturday's game with an upper-body injury following a collision and Perets' call-up suggests that Kochetkov won't be available for Monday's game. Perets, who is 1-2-0 with a 3.67 GAA and .825 SV% in the AHL this season, will likely serve exclusively as Spencer Martin's backup.

Yaniv Perets
Martin will start in New Jersey on Thursday.

On the tail end of a back-to-back, the Hurricanes will turn to Martin between the pipes for the second time in four games. The 29-year-old Martin began the season in the AHL and has predominantly served as the backup to Pyotr Kochetkov. That said, he was tremendous in his previous outing, saving all 24 shots he faced in a 4-0 shutout victory over the Ottawa Senators. The Hurricanes have outscored their opposition 12-2 in their previous three games (3-0-0) and enter Thursday's contest as slight -103 road underdogs against the New Jersey Devils.

Spencer Martin
Andersen will undergo a procedure to his knee and is expected to be out for 8-12 weeks.

Originally expected to be a minor injury, the Hurricanes have revealed that Andersen will be sidelined for approximately 8-12 weeks after undergoing a procedure on his knee. Pyotr Kochetkov has filled in admirably in Andersen's absence and should continue to do so with Spencer Martin as his backup.

Frederik Andersen
Kochetkov will start in Philadelphia on Wednesday.

The Hurricanes will turn to Kochetkov between the pipes again on Wednesday for his seventh start of November. The 25-year-old Kochetkov has been winning all season but has been especially dominant lately. In his first five games (4-1-0), Kochetkov was sporting a subpar .891 SV%, in contrast to the .915 SV% he has in six games since (5-1-0). The Hurricanes enter Wednesday's contest as sizeable -228 road favorites against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Pyotr Kochetkov
Hall will draw back into Chicago's lineup vs. Anaheim on Tuesday.

Hall was a healthy scratch on Saturday but will draw back into the lineup on Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks. The 2017-18 Hart Trophy winner has struggled with the Blackhawks, scoring only six points (2G / 4A) in 17 games while averaging a career-low 15:10 time-on-ice.

Taylor Hall
Kochetkov will start on Sunday against the St. Louis Blues.

Kochetkov exited Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Utah Hockey Club due to an undisclosed injury, did not play on Saturday but will return to the crease on Sunday. The 25-year-old Kochetkov has been solid between the pipes for the Hurricanes this season, posting a 2.56 GAA and .897 SV% in 10 games (8-2-0).

Pyotr Kochetkov
Perets has been recalled from Chicago (AHL).

With Pyotr Kochetkov (undisclosed) doubt for Saturday's game against the Ottawa Senators, in addition to Frederik Andersen (lower body) being out long-term, the Hurricanes have recalled Perets from the Chicago Wolves (AHL). If Kochetkov is not able to suit up on Saturday, Perets will likely serve as the backup to Spencer Martin. The 24-year-old Perets has a 3.67 GAA and .825 SV% in three games with the Wolves (AHL) this season.
