Chicago Blackhawks News

Mrazek is in the starter's crease at Chicago's morning skate.

Mrazek will return to the crease for the seventh time in the last eight games for the Blackhawks. The Czech netminder helped the Blackhawks snap an eight-game losing skid on Saturday with a stellar performance, saving 40 of 42 shots (.952 SV%) in a 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators. Mrazek has been a bright spot all season for a poor Blackhawks squad, keeping them within reaching distance of the opposition on most nights. That said, the Blackhawks enter action as +369 road underdogs against the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday.

Bedard (jaw) will draw back into the Blackhawks lineup on Thursday.

Bedard has not played since the beginning of January after taking a heavy open-ice hit from the Devils' Brendan Smith, forcing him to leave the game. The 18-year-old Bedard was having a solid rookie campaign with 33 points (15G / 18A) in 39 games and was well on track to capturing the Calder Trophy before his injury. Bedard will return to receiving top-line and top-powerplay deployment immediately when he returns to the Blackhawks' lineup on Thursday.

Soderblom will start Thursday vs. the Penguins.

He will face the Pittsburgh Penguins, who are on the back half of a back-to-back and have lost three straight games after getting news Thursday that their leading scoring Jake Guentzel will now miss the next four weeks.

Mrazek will start on Tuesday vs. Vancouver.

Brossoit will start Thursday in Philadelphia.

Brossoit will tend the twine on Thursday in an attempt to snap a four-game losing streak for the Jets. Brossoit has been sensational when called upon this season, highlighted by a multi-week stretch where he has posted a 4-0-1 record, allowing fewer than three goals in each contest and posting a dazzling .951 SV%. The Jets look poised to get back into the win column as -136 road favourites against a Philadelphia Flyers club that snapped a five-game losing skid in their last outing.

Mrazek will start against the Wild on Wednesday.

Smith will be a healthy scratch Wednesday in Toronto.

Smith has played in all but four games for Dallas in 2023-24 but will head to the press box as a healthy scratch Wednesday as he is replaced by Ty Dellandrea vs. Toronto. The 34-year-old has been a solid offensive contributor on Dallas' fourth line this season with four goals, 10 points, 73 SOG, 23 PIMs and a +4 plus/minus in 46 games.
