Steel was a healthy scratch on Tuesday but will replace Max Comtois in the lineup on Thursday. Steel, who has played primarily as a bottom-6 option for the Ducks this season, has no goals and just three assists in his last 18 games.
Hellberg was originally a second-round pick of the Predators in 2011 but only appeared in one game for the franchise. He ended up getting traded to the Rangers, where he played only three games. He's spent the last five years in the KHL, most recently with Sochi H, where he was 13-20-4 with a 2.42 GAA and .917 SV% in 2022.
Smith suffered an injury vs. the Islanders last Friday and missed Sunday's game vs. the Ducks but will be back in the lineup on Tuesday. Smith will replace either Ian Cole or Ethan Bear on the third pair.
Lindell missed the last five games with an upper-body injury but it looks like he'll play Saturday vs. the Devils. Lindell has scored four goals with 19 assists (23 points) in 65 games this season.
Dumba suffered an upper-body injury in Nashville on Tuesday and will not be available on Friday. Head coach Dean Evason said that Dumba's prognosis was “more positive than we anticipated,” so it doesn't look like he'll be sidelined for an extended period of time. Look for Jordie Benn to draw into the lineup in Dumba's place on Friday.
