Edmonton Oilers News

The Oilers have reportedly acquired Dickinson and forward Colton Dach in exchange for forward Andrew Mangiapane and a conditional 2027 first-round draft pick.

In Dickinson, the Oilers are gaining an excellent two-way forward who should excel in a shutdown role and finally fill Edmonton's third-line-centre void. A former first-round pick way back in 2013, Dickinson has spent the last four seasons with the Blackhawks, developing into one of the league's more underrated defensive forwards. The Georgetown, Ontario native won't need to worry about obtaining a work visa and could make his Oilers debut as soon as Friday when they host the Hurricanes.

Ingram will start vs. Ottawa on Tuesday.

The Oilers continue to look for stability between the pipes and will turn to Ingam, who has been marginally more consistent than Tristan Jarry, on Tuesday against the Ottawa Senators. The 28-year-old Ingram allowed five goals on 33 shots (.848 SV%) in his most recent outing, a 5-4 loss to the San Jose Sharks. That said, he has a serviceable 2.55 GAA and .899 SV% in his last 12 appearances (5-4-1). The Oilers enter Tuesday's contest as slight -110 home favourites against a Senators team coming off a dominant 5-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Murphy will not make his Edmonton' debut on Tuesday vs. Ottawa.

Edmonton, one of the NHL's worst defensive teams (3.38 GA/GP), acquired Murphy from the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday to help them shore up their blueline. In 60 games with Chicago this season, the 32-year-old Murphy averaged 16:34 time-on-ice, recording 13 points (4G / 9A), 62 hits, and 87 blocks. He will not play on Tuesday, with his next chance to make his debut being on Friday against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Janmark suffered an injury early in Edmonton's return to action from the Olympic break and will have to undergo surgery, forcing him to miss the remainder of the season but is expected to be ready for training camp next season. The 33-year-old Janmark scored eight points (1G / 7A) in 43 games this season.

Ingram will start in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Ingram will get the tail-end of the Oilers' back-to-back as they look to bounce back from a disappointing loss in Anaheim last night. Ingram did appear briefly in relief of Tristan Jarry at the end of last night's game and was ultimately tagged with the loss, allowing one goal on four shots. The 28-year-old netminder has appeared in 14 games for the Oilers this season, posting a 6-5-1 record and an .895 SV%. Edmonton enters action on Thursday at -105 on the money line.

McDavid (olympics) will return and dress for Edmonton in Anaheim on Wednesday.

McDavid led all players at the Olympics with 13 points (2G / 11A) in six games during Canada's Silver Medal Performance and will return to Edmonton's lineup on Wednesday against the Anaheim Ducks. The 29-year-old McDavid is having another outstanding season, leading the NHL with 96 points (34G / 62A) through 58 games. Even more impressive, McDavid has actually increased his production as the season has progressed, with 60 points (23G / 37A) in his last 31 games.
