Asplund will not be in the Sabres' lineup Friday due to an undisclosed injury. The 24-year-old had two goals, four assists and a +1 plus/minus in a bottom-six roll through 17 games prior to the injury.

Rodrigues suffered a lower-body injury vs. the Canucks on Wednesday and did not travel to Nashville for Friday's game. According to head coach Jared Bednar, Rodrigues "tweaked" something, and they're waiting to hear from doctors before releasing a timeline for his return.

Lockwood had one assist and one shot on goal in 10:18 in his season debut on Tuesday. With Curtis Lazar returning to the lineup, Lockwood returns to the AHL, where he has seven points (5G / 2A) in 10 games.

Ekblad will return to the Panther's lineup Saturday vs. Edmonton. The 26-year-old has been out since October 17th when he left a game against Boston early with a lower-back injury. Through his first three games of the season, he had one goal and seven SOG while leading the Panthers blue line.
