Johansson took what looked to be a purposeful elbow to the head from Brad Marchand in the third period and had to be attended to by the training staff. Johansson did not return to the game and Marchand will have a hearing for the incident. Johansson likely won’t be available for Thursday’s game but could be ready after the All-Star break.


Fleury stopped 27 of 28 shots in the Golden Knights win in Carolina on Sunday. Fleury is now 4–2-1 with a 1.30 GAA, .957 SV% and one shutout. Fleury will see the Blue Jackets at T-Mobile Arena where he has gone 6-1-2 with a 1.98 GAA and .934 SV% this season.

Malcolm Subban started for the first time in five games the next night so Fleury should be well rested for tonight’s game in Carolina. Fleury has gone 3-2-1 with a 1.35 GAA, .956 SV% and one shutout in his first six starts in January.

Fleury allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Golden Knights overtime loss to the Oilers on Saturday. Fleury has just two regulation losses on the season and has gone 3-1-0 with a 1.48 GAA and .957 SV% in four starts on the road this season. Fleury stopped all 29 shots that he faced in a 3-0 shutout win in his first start vs. Nashville.

Fleury allowed one goal on 29 shots in the Golden Knights win over the Rangers last Sunday. Fleury has been outstanding for the Golden Knights this season, winning nine of his 12 appearances with a 1.73 GAA, .945 SV% and two shutouts. He has a nice matchup against a struggling Oilers team who come in on the tail-end of a back-to-back.

Boyd has been recalled to serve as an extra forward in case something happens to one of the Capitals regular forwards prior to Friday’s game in Carolina. Boyd has 27 points (8G / 19A) in 37 games with the Capitals this season.

Bogosian was tangled up in practice on Wednesday and it is believed that he suffered an ankle injury that will cost him at least one month. Brendan Guhle was recalled earlier this week and now it looks like he’ll be here to stay while Bogosian is on the shelf.

Bogosian got tangled up with Evander Kane in Wednesday’s practice and had to be helped off of the ice, unable to put any pressure on his left leg. Bogosian has had a tough time with injuries during his career and it looks like he could miss more time this year.

Gaunce has just one goal and one assist in 26 games this season and he will come out of the lineup tonight in favour of Nikolay Goldobin.




Zuccarello will come out of the Rangers lineup tonight due to an illness, so Vinnie Lettieri will draw back in against the Coyotes. Consider Zuccarello questionable for Sunday’s game.
