Price will start Wednesday vs. the Maple Leafs.

Price ran away with the Vezina Trophy last season and he has a good chance to get 2015-16 started on the right foot as he draws a great matchup vs. the Maple Leafs. Price dominated Toronto last season, going 4-0-0 with a 1.69 GAA and .935 SV%…and this Maple Leafs team is expected to be even worse.

The Canadiens have claimed Paul Byron off of waivers from Calgary.

Byron, 26, has been a nice depth piece for the Flames over the last few seasons, but after Zack Kassian was suspended indefinitely on Monday, the Habs claimed Byron from Calgary. Byron had six goals and 13 assists (19 points) in 57 games with the Flames last season.

The Blue Jackets have signed David Savard to a five-year contract extension worth $21.25 million ($4.25M AAV).

Savard, 24, is coming off of an 11-goal, 25-assist (36 points) season with the Blue Jackets. Savard also led Columbus in hits (195) and was third in blocked shots (105). Savard is expected to be a top-pair defensemen alongside Jack Johnson in 2015-16 and is capable of posting double-digit goals and 30 assists.

Price allowed two goals on 35 shots in the Canadiens 2-1 double overtime loss to the Lightning in Game 1. Price is now 2-1-1 with a 2.71 GAA and .903 SV% at home in the playoffs. He will look to steal Game 2 tonight to send the series to Tampa Bay tied a 2-2.

Price surrendered five goals on 25 shots in the Canadiens 5-1 loss to the Senators in Game 5. It was a surprisingly bad performance for the Vezina Trophy favourite, who has posted a 2.31 GAA and .923 SV% in the first five games of the series. Price will look to close the deal tonight instead of having to go back to Montreal for Game 7.

The Habs come into Game 4 with a commanding 3-0 series lead and they are looking to punch their ticket into the second round. In the first three games of the series, Price has posted a 1.88 GAA and .939 SV%—pretty much what you would expect.

Price allowed two goals on 31 shots in the Canadiens 3-2 OT win over the Senators in Game 2. Price has stopped 64 of 69 shots (.928 SV%) in the first two games of the series. Tonight he will look to give the Canadiens a stranglehold on the series as it shifts to Ottawa.

Price gave up three goals on 36 shots in the Canadiens 4-3 win over the Senators in Game 1. Price has given up three goals in each of his last three games, but has won each of those games. Price will look to be even better tonight and give the Canadiens a 2-0 lead heading to Ottawa.

Just give him the Vezina now. This will be just his fourth start in 10 days, so he will start the season finale to keep him fresh for the playoffs.
