Bernier allowed four goals on 34 shots in the Red Wings loss in Colorado on Tuesday. Bernier has not registered a win since he shutout the Senators on February 2nd, going 0-3-3 with a 3.55 GAA and .890 SV% in five starts and three relief appearances since. He should be left on the waiver wire for his start in Tampa Bay.
Hischier remains day-to-day and will not travel to Washington or New York for Friday and Saturday’s games.
Bratt left Tuesday’s game against the Blue Jackets with a lower-body injury and will miss at least a couple of weeks. The Devils lineup continues to take hits as they’re now without six members of their top-9.

Things won’t get any easier tonight vs. the Maple Leafs—Markstrom allowed five goals on 34 shots in a 5-0 loss in his first start against Toronto this season.
Bernier allowed two goals on 12 shots after replacing Jimmy Howard in the Red Wings blowout loss to Montreal last Tuesday. Howard lost in Arizona on Saturday so the Red Wings will go back to Bernier tonight vs. his former team. The 30-year-old has gone 5-9-3 with a 3.52 GAA, .896 SV% and one shutout on the road this year.
Dumoulin has missed the last three games after suffering a concussion in the Penguins’ outdoor game in Philadelphia. Dumoulin rotated on the top-pair in Monday’s practice and was a full participant in Tuesday’s morning skate, but remains a game-time decision. Dumoulin, who will likely skate with Justin Schultz if he plays, has 21 points (2G / 19A), a plus-27 rating and 78 shots on goal in 62 games this season.
Hischier was listed as questionable after missing Monday’s practice and was officially ruled out this morning. With Hischer out with an upper-body injury, Travis Zajac will centre the Devils’ top-line.
Bastian will miss his second straight game with an undisclosed injury that he suffered against the Flyers on Tuesday. Bastian remains day-to-day.
