Pageau (Achilles) will return to the Senators lineup on Sunday.

Pageau has missed the first 41 games of the season but will return much earlier than expected. Pageau’s original timetable was late-February/early-March but will play Sunday vs. the Hurricanes. Pageau, who has 29 points (14G / 15A) in 78 games last year, will centre the third line with Zack Smith and Mikkel Boedker on his wings.

Hogberg will start Wednesday vs. the Canucks.

Hogberg allowed four goals on 36 shots in the Senators loss in Columbus on Monday. Hogberg will start his third straight game, having gone 0-2-0 with a 3.56 GAA and .883 SV% in his first two appearances. Tonight he faces a Canucks team that has won eight of their last 12 games (8-3-1) while averaging 3.33 goals for per game.

Varlamov will start Saturday in Arizona.

Varlamov allowed three goals on 20 shots in Colorado’s loss to the Islanders on Monday. Varlamov is in the middle of a rough stretch, having lost four of his last five while allowing a combined 21 goals on 135 shots (.844 SV%). Despite starting in the second game of a back-to-back, Varlamov has a good chance to get back in the win column in Arizona.

Schneider will start Friday vs. the Golden Knights.

Schneider allowed five goals on 37 shots in the Devils loss in Anaheim on Sunday. 2018-19 has been a total disaster for Schneider, who has gone 0-5-1 with a 4.29 GAA and .862 SV% in six starts and two relief appearances. Tonight he will make his first start on home-ice and is still searching for his first win of the season. He’ll have a tough time against a Vegas squad that has won nine of their last 11 (9-2-0).

Varlamov will start Saturday against the Stars.

Varlamov was pulled after he gave up three goals on 18 shots in Colorado’s loss to the Oilers on Tuesday. Varlamov has struggled as of late, losing three in a row while giving up a combined 14 goals on 73 shots (.808 SV%). In his first start against the Stars, Varlamov stopped 27 of 29 shots in a 3-2 win on November 24th.
