Varlamov allowed three goals on 36 shots in Colorado’s win in Los Angeles on Wednesday. Philipp Grubauer started last night, so Varlamov will go tonight vs. the Stars. The 30-year-old has won three straight and comes into Saturday at 3-2-1 with 2.18 GAA and .927 SV% on home-ice this season.

DeAngelo has been one of the Rangers best defensemen at times this season, but comes out of the lineup as a healthy scratch frequently. Overall, he has totalled eight points (2G / 6A) in 15 games this season.

Cizikas has not played since November 15th and is two weeks into this original 2-3 week timetable. Returning to the ice on his own was the next step in his recovery. Look for him to join his teammates next week and could return to the lineup by next weekend.


Varlamov allowed three goals on 23 shots in Colorado’s win over the Bruins last Wednesday. Varlamov has won two in a row and is now 2-3-0 with a 3.46 GAA and .881 SV% in November. He has a chance to extend his winning streak to three against Kings team that is last in goals per game (2.00).


Reilly has played pretty well for the Canadiens this season, but will be replaced by Xavier Ouellet tonight.

Pelech was scratched on Tuesday, but will be replace Adam Pelech tonight vs. the Rangers. Pelech has five points (1G / 4A) in 15 games this season.

Martin’s move to IR is retroactive to November 1st, so he is eligible to play whenever he is healthy. Martin remains day-to-day according to the Islanders.

Cizikas will miss 2-3 weeks with a lower-body injury, so he has been moved to IR to open up a roster spot to recall Stephen Gionta from Bridgeport (AHL).

Soshnikov was in the lineup for the last two games, but will be replaced by Patrick Maroon on Wednesday. Soshnikov has averaged just 7:32 TOI/gm in his first two games of the year.

Varlamov allowed one goal on 27 shots in Colorado’s win in Edmonton on Sunday. The win snapped a five-game losing streak for Varlamov, who is now 5-5-2 with a 2.26 GAA and .929 SV% on the season. The Avalanche will host the Bruins tonight and Varlamov comes in at 2-2-1 with a 2.01 GAA and .936 SV% on home-ice.

Pelech has one goal and four assists in 15 games this season. He was a minus-2 in Florida on Saturday and will be replaced by Luca Sbisa tonight vs. the Canucks.




Varlamov allowed three goals on 33 shots in Colorado’s loss to the Predators on Wednesday. Varlamov has now lost four in a row while posting a 3.09 GAA and .901 SV%. He draws a tough matchup vs. a well rested Jets team in Winnipeg. The 30-year-old netminder is 2-2-1 with a 2.40 GAA and .932 SV% on the road so far this season.

Miska has gone 3-3-1 with a 3.11 GAA and .901 SV% in seven starts with Tucson this season. Miska has been recalled to serve as the Coyotes backup while Antti Raanta is sidelined with a lower-body injury.

Schneider allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Devils loss in Detroit last Thursday. It was an inauspicious return to the crease for Schneider, who will make his second start of the season tonight. Schneider faces a Senators team with a little skill but even more internal issues. Still, the Sens have been able to score 3.21 (12th) goals per game through 14 games this season.
