The Hurricanes have recalled Alex Nedeljkovic from Florida (ECHL)
Eddie Lack had to be taken off on a stretcher in the Hurricanes’ OT loss to Detroit last night, so Nedeljkovic will come up to take his spot on the roster. The 21-year-old netminder has gone 8-14-0 with a 3.40 GAA and .881 SV% with Charlotte (AHL) and 4-4-0 with a 3.64 GAA and .885 SV% with Florida this season.
Malkin (upper-body) continues to rehab; will not play on Friday.

Malkin will not travel to Buffalo for the Penguins game on Tuesday, which puts his status for Thursday’s game in Ottawa in question as well. Monitor Malkin’s status as the week progresses.

The Bruins have recalled Noel Acciari from Providence (AHL).
Acciari, 25, has appeared in 19 games with the Bruins this season, collecting two assists. The 25-year-old has spent the majority of the year with Providence, where he has 14 points (6G / 8A) in 30 games. He was recalled on Sunday because Patrice Bergeron, Drew Stafford and Tim Schaller were all missing from yesterday’s practice.

Malkin missed the Penguins’ morning skate and will miss tonight’s contest with an upper-body injury. Head coach Mike Sullivan said that Malkin has been dealing with an upper-body injury “for a while” and that they will “know more soon.”
Rust (arm) (upper-body) will not travel on the Penguins’ four-game Western Canada trip.
Rust has missed the last 11 games with an arm injury and will miss at least four games as he stays back in Pittsburgh while the team travels out west. He resumed skating last Friday, so monitor his status leading up to next Wednesday’s game in Philadelphia.
