Vasilevskiy is in the starter's crease at the Lightning's morning skate.

Vasilevskiy will get his second straight start of the season after dropping the Lightning's opener in a 3-1 loss to New York. Regardless of the results, Vasilevskiy stood on his head stopping 36 of 39 shots. He draws a much easier matchup than the opener as Tampa heads on the road to Columbus.

Cam Atkinson is out tomorrow vs New Jersey according to John Tortorella

Atkinson continues to battle an unspecified injury that caused the 33-year-old to miss all of the Flyers' six preseason games. The right winger is coming off a resurgent 2021-22 which saw him place second on the Flyers in both goals (23) and points as he passed the 50-point plateau for the fourth time in his 11-year career.

The Coyotes have claimed Jonas Johansson on waivers from the Avalanche.

Since being taken in the third-round of the 2014 NHL Draft, Johansson has appeared in just 32 NHL games. He's gone 9-13-4 with a 3.46 GAA and .882 SV% with the Sabres, Avalanche and Panthers. Arizona may be the only destination where Johansson could actually land a backup role in the NHL for the 2022-23 season.

The Lightning have acquired Grant Mismash and Philippe Myers from the Predators for Ryan McDonagh.

Mismash was a second-round pick in the 2017 draft and turned pro in 2022 after four years at the University of North Dakota. The 23-year-old winger had 12 points (6G / 6A) in 57 games with Milwaukee (AHL) and will likely report to Syracuse (AHL) next year.

The Predators have acquired Ryan McDonagh from the Lightning for Philippe Myers and Grant Mismash.

McDonagh has four years left on his seven-year deal that carries a $6.75M AAV cap-hit. The Lightning recently approached McDonagh to waive his no-trade clause in an effort to clear some cap-space. The Lightning have two key UFA's in Ondrej Palat and Jan Rutta and this trade could help get both of them under contract. In Nashville, McDonagh joins Roman Josi, and Mattias Ekholm as the Predators' new big-3.
