Cernak has missed the last eight games with an upper-body injury that he suffered on November 9th. Cernak, who has three assists in 12 games, will replace Cal Foote on the blueline.

Fortier will replace Mathieu Joseph on the Lightning's second line with Anthony Cirelli and Alex Killorn. Fortier has four goals and seven assists (11 points) in 17 AHL games this season.

Fortier was a second-round pick in the 2018 draft and could be set to make his NHL debut this week after Mathieu Joseph was banged up over the weekend. The 21-year-old is third on Syracuse with 11 points (4G / 7A) in 17 games.

The Lightning called him week-to-week earlier in the day but he must have undergone further evaluation since. Point was hurt when he was tripped on a breakaway and crashed into the end boards on Saturday. Don't expect to see him back in the lineup until after Christmas.

The Lightning did not provide much of an update on Point, other than to say that he is "probably in that week-to-week stage right now." All things considered, this is probably the best-case scenario but will still put the Lightning in a tough spot for at least a couple of weeks.

Cernak was on the ice for the morning skate but will miss his sixth consecutive game on Tuesday. Cernak was upgraded to day-to-day and could be back for Friday's game vs. the Kraken.
