Matthews will miss at least three weeks with a knee sprain.

Matthews suffered a knee sprain in Wednesday's win over the Rangers and will miss a minimum of three weeks. The injury will take Matthews out of the All-Star game and will sideline him until at least February 18th. With Matthews unavailable on Friday, Pontus Holmberg moves up to the Maple Leafs' second line.

Max Pacioretty has been placed on the injury reserve and will miss Saturday's game vs. the New York Islanders (lower-body).

Pacioretty left the Hurricane's game vs. Minnesota after 16:38 TOI on a non-contact play and will be out indefinitely as he deals with a lower-body injury after being placed on the injured reserve Friday. It is a terrible break for the six-time 30-goal scorer, as he had just returned from offseason Achilles surgery and had three goals in his first five games.
