Kerfoot will miss his second straight game with a leg injurey that he suffered on Monday. With Kerfoot out, the Avalanche will go back with the same 11 forward, seven defenseman lineup that played on Tuesday.
Kerfoot played just 7:41 TOI before leaving last night’s game in Pittsburgh with a lower-body injury. With the Avalanche back in action on Tuesday, Kerfoot should be considered questionable at best. Expect the Avalanche to update Kerfoot’s status closer to game-time.
Bortuzzo was in the lineup for the last two games, but will be replaced by Vince Dunn in the lineup tonight. Bortuzzo has just five points (1G / 4A) in 27 games this season and Dunn brings more offence to the table against a talented Stars team.
Weber has missed the last six games with a lower-body injury, but took part in today’s morning skate and it looks like he will play tonight vs. the Red Wings. Weber skated with Jordie Benn this morning and will likely take his spot back on the top power play unit as well. Monitor his status during pre-game warmups, but it looks like the hulking defenseman will play tonight. He has 13 points (4G / 9A) in 20 games this season.
Bortuzzo was a mainstay on the blueline while Jay Bouwmeester was out, but with Bouwmeester back and Carl Gunnarsson getting back in the lineup tonight, Bortuzzo will serve as a healthy scratch. The veteran defenseman has just one goal and four assists (five points) in 25 games this season.
Weber took part in the Canadiens’ morning skate but will miss his third straight game with a lower-body injury. With Weber out, Jakub Jerabek will remain on the Canadiens’ blueline.
Maatta missed the Penguins morning skate and is listed as a game-time decision for tonight's game vs. the Blackhawks. Maatta has had a solid campaign to date, having picked up two goals and nine assists (11 points) in 21 games.
