Joshua (testicular cancer) is day-to-day and close to returning.

In mid-September, the Canucks announced that 28-year-old Dakota Joshua had been diagnosed with testicular cancer and successfully had a tumor removed but would not be ready for the start of training camp. The fifth-year winger is coming off his best season in 2023-24, with 18 goals, 32 points, 60 PIMs, 84 SOG, and a +19 plus/minus through 63 games played.

Bains has been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL).

Bains recorded his first career NHL goal on Saturday and has been impressive in Vancouver this season but continues to be a part of paper transactions sending him back to Abbotsford (AHL) due to salary cap implications. Last season with Abbotsford (AHL), Bains was an offensive stalwart, producing 55 points (16G / 39A) in 59 games, but the 23-year-old has played exclusively at the NHL level this season.

Silovs will start on Wednesday vs. New Jersey.

Silovs has not played since October 15th, serving as the backup to Kevin Lankinen for the previous five games, but after a 4-3 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday, the Canucks will return to the Latvian netminder between the pipes. Silovs was the opening-night starter for the Canucks, but after posting a 4.50 GAA and .827 SV% in his only two outings (0-1-1), Lankinen was able to take control of the crease in Vancouver. The Canucks enter the action on Wednesday as -119 home favorites against a New Jersey Devils squad that snapped a four-game losing skid in that last outing, a 6-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks.

Lankinen will start on Monday vs. Carolina.

With Thatcher Demko (undisclosed) still sidelined for the foreseeable future, Lankinen has taken the reins of the Vancouver crease and will start for a fifth straight game on Monday against the Carolina Hurricanes. The 29-year-old Lankinen is riding a four-game winning streak and has a stellar 1.95 GAA and .930 SV% through five games this season (4-0-1). That said, the Canucks enter action on Monday as +113 home underdogs against a Hurricanes club with a 5-2-0 record.
