Thompson (illness) will be out on Monday vs. Minnesota.

The Golden Knights have recalled Jiri Patera as Thompson is not able to play on Monday due to an illness. With Adin Hill back from injury, Thompson has been limited to only one game for the Golden Knights in their last five (4-1-0), a 5-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings when he allowed four goals on 28 shots (.857 SV%).

Lindgren will start Tuesday vs. Montreal.

The Capitals will turn to Lindgren on Tuesday, his third straight start, in their return to action from the All-Star break. Despite being favoured in between the pipes lately, starting four of the last five games (1-2-1), Lindgren has allowed three or more goals three times, posting an ugly .861 SV%. That said, the Capitals are -150 home favourites against Lindgren's former squad, the Montreal Canadiens, who have lost four of their last five (1-3-1).

Milano (upper body) returned to the Capitals' practice in a regular jersey Tuesday.

Milano has not played since December 10th, missing 22 games with an upper-body injury, but appears to be nearing a return to the lineup imminently. Milano had been held to only one point (1G / 0A) in his last nine games before his injury, firing only six shots on goal and averaging 11:19 time-on-ice.

Roy (personal) will return to the Kings' lineup Wednesday vs. Buffalo.

Roy missed the Kings' previous game due to personal reasons but will draw back into their lineup Wednesday vs. Buffalo in replacement of Jordan Spence. The 28-year-old has enjoyed yet another strong defensive season in 2023-24, with two goals, 11 assists, 85 SOG, 16 PIMs and a +7 plus/minus through 43 games played.

Lindgren will start Wednesday vs. Colorado.

With Washington on a back-to-back, Lindgren will take the crease Wednesday after backing up Darcy Kuemper on Tuesday. The 30-year-old has deservedly earned the majority of the Capitals' starts of late as he's put up a 3-2-1 record, and .928 SV% in his last seven games played. He takes on the Colorado Avalanche on the road Wednesday, who have won five of their last seven games and rank 2nd in the NHL in goals per game (3.77).
