Ovechkin tried to return to the lineup on Monday but only lasted one shift. He'll continue to sit out on Wednesday, potentially leaving the Capitals shorthanded upfront.

Oshie missed Monday's game after the passing of his father but will be back in the lineup on Wednesday. Oshie has played some really good hockey over the last month or so, scoring 11 goals with eight assists (19 points) in his last 19 games.




Ovechkin has missed the last four games with a lower-body injury but will be a game-time decision on Monday, so monitor his status as the Capitals hit the ice for warmups at 6:30 PM ET.

Oshie will be held out of the Capitals lineup on Monday due to personal/family reasons. Alex Ovechkin (lower-body) could be back in the lineup to replace Oshie at 5v5 and on the power-play.


Carlson was not on the ice for the morning skate and is officially listed as a game-time decision for Wednesday's game vs. the Penguins. Carlson has been held without a point in four straight games but is third among defensemen with 42 points (10G / 32A) in 49 games.

Strome was a healthy scratch in the last two games but will draw back into the lineup on Tuesday. Strome will play centre, so look for him to be on the third line with Dominik Kubalik as the Blackhawks go back to 12 forwards and six defensemen.

Ovechkin was not on the ice for Monday's practice or Tuesday's morning skate and will miss his second consecutive game tonight vs. the Islanders. With Ovechkin sidelined, Daniel Sprong will remain on the top line and Tom Wilson will be on PP1.




Roy has been sidelined since April 2nd but will return to the lineup Tuesday vs. the Ducks. The Kings went 2-5-0 without Roy in the lineup.

Sandin has only appeared in one game this season but is expected to replace Travis Dermott on the third pairing and skate on PP2. Sandin has one goal and eight assists (nine points) in 29 career NHL games.

Carlsson was a minus-1 in 14:08 TOI on Saturday but will be replaced by Dean Kukan in the lineup on Monday.
