The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired forward Kyle Clifford from the St. Louis Blues, DailyFaceoff’s Frank Seravalli reported Tuesday.

Clifford, 30, rejoins the Leafs for his second stint having spent 16 games with the club in 2019-20 where he scored one goal and three points. The hard-nosed native of Ayr, Ontario, is in the second year of a deal paying him $1-million that he signed with the Blues.

This season, Clifford has only appeared in two games with St. Louis where he notched one assist and five shots on goal.

St. Louis waived the veteran of 728 NHL games Monday, and a little over two hours after he cleared, he was moved to Toronto. There, Seravalli reports, Clifford is expected to join the AHL Marlies.

The Blues acquired future considerations in the deal.
