Kampfer is one of six players who opted out of the NHL playoffs because of family concerns. Kampfer only played in 10 NHL games this season, so he likely wasn't going to play a lot in the postseason anyway.

Green is one of six players that has opted out of the NHL playoffs, citing "deeply personal family health reasons." Green only played two games with the Oilers after being acquired from the Red Wings on February 24th. That could have become a 2021 third-round pick if the Oilers reached the Conference Finals and Green played in 50 percent of the games.

Alzner is one of six players that is opting out of the NHL playoffs due to family concerns. This seems like an easy decision for the 31-year-old, who has only played in four NHL games this season and was unlikely to play much, if at all.

Kaprizov was drafted in the fifth-round back in 2015 but has been regarded as one the best NHL affiliated prospects in the world over the last few years. The 23-year-old Russian took his game to new heights in 2020, setting KHL career-bests in goals (33) and points (62) in 57 games. With the KHL playoffs cancelled due to Covid-19, Kaprizov became eligible to sign with the Wild and come to the NHL.

Baertschi has been seeking a trade for the majority of the 2019-20 season after spending most of the season posting over point-per-game numbers in the AHL. Baertschi was invited to training camp, which starts Monday but will stay home and be replaced by Kole Lind on the roster. Baertschi joins Flames' defenseman Travis Hamonic as the second player to opt-out of the NHL playoffs.

When the season was paused, Stamkos was out after undergoing surgery to repair a core muscle injury. He was 100 percent healthy in his return to the ice but suffered a new lower-body injury in a training session in Tampa Bay. Still, GM Julien BriseBois fully expects Stamjos to be ready for the round-robin that starts for the Lighting on August 3rd.

Hamonic has been granted a leave of absence from the Flames for family reasons. Hamonic's daughter recently overcame a respiratory virus and Hamonic said in a statement that he wishes he "could lace up my skates and be out there battling, but my family has and always will come first."
