It looks like Chara will return to the lineup tonight after missing exactly seven weeks with a sprained MCL. Chara will play on the top pair with Dougie Hamilton and is expected to be the net-front presence on the top power-play unit. His return is huge for a Bruins team who went 11-7-1 without their captain.
Honrqvist participated in practice on Thursday and could be back in the lineup tomorrow after missing the last two games with a head injury. Monitor his status during tomorrow’s morning skate.
Letang has missed the last five games with a groin injury that he suffered in late October. Letang took part in a full practice on Thursday and said that he just needs to be cleared by the Penguins medical department.
Scandella has been suspended two games for his hit on Brock Nelson on Tuesday. He will not play tonight or Saturday. Christian Folin will replace Scandella.
Garbutt will miss Saturday, Wednesday and Friday—he is eligible to return to the lineup next Sunday in Edmonton.

Pavelec allowed four goals on 25 shots in the Jets 4-3 OT loss to the Ducks on Sunday. Despite Michael Hutchinson getting the win on Tuesday, Pavelec will start tonight in Colorado. Pav stopped 22 of 23 shots in a 2-1 OT win in his first start vs. the Avalanche this season.
Stalock stopped 25 of 27 shots in the Sharks win over the Oilers on Tuesday. He was not the scheduled starter, but Antti Niemi is dealing with an undisclosed injury. He will make his third straight start, having won one of two with a 2.02 GAA and .922 SV%.
Smith allowed one goal on nine shots after relieving Devan Dubnyk on Saturday vs. the Bruins. Smith has just one win in his last 11 games and sits at 5-13-2 with a 3.27 GAA and .890 SV%. He gets a tough matchup tonight with the 18-7-2 Predators in town; look elsewhere.
Semin will miss his second straight game tonight and there is no word on how long the Hurricanes expect him to be out.
Bellemore has missed the last seven games with a lower-body injury, but is available for tonight’s game in Tampa Bay. Despite his activation, it does not look like Bellemore will be in the lineup tonight vs. the Lightning. In order to make room for Bellemore, the Hurricanes have placed Alex Semin on IR.
Nestrasil was injured while blocking a shot on Monday vs. New Jersey. He will miss tonight’s game and is day-to-day. He will be replaced by Brad Malone.
Despite Steen saying that he did not think he would play tonight, he will be back in the lineup after missing the last two games with a lower-body injury. Steen has five goals and 11 assists in 26 games this season.
Bouwmeester has missed the last eight games with a groin injury, but will return tonight vs.the Islanders. He will return to his usual spot on a pairing with Alex Pietrangelo and will likely return to the second power-play unit as well. Bouwmeester has just two points (1G / 1A) in 20 games this season.
Backes missed practice on Wednesday, but was on the ice for the Blues morning skate and will play tonight vs. the Islanders. Backes is not 100 percent, but he will wear a protective face shield and do what he can. Backes has 12 points (7G / 5A) in 27 games this season.
Halak surrendered six goals on 40 shots in the Islanders loss to the Blues last Saturday. He was scheduled to start on Tuesday, but was a late scratch because of an upper-body injury. He will be back in goal with a chance to redeem himself vs. St. Louis. Halak is 14-5-0 with a 2.26 GAA and .920 SV% this season.
Rask allowed two goals on 26 shots in the Bruins win over Arizona on Saturday. Rask had lost four of five entering play on Saturday, but the win hopefully has him back on track heading into a big matchup vs. the Blackhawks. Rask has gone 9-3-1 with a 1.99 GAA and .931 SV% at home this season.
Bobrovsky stopped 19 of 21 shots to earn his fourth straight win on Tuesday vs.the Flyers. Over that span, Bob has allowed just seven goals on 135 shots (.948 SV%). He will look to keep his red-hot stretch of play going tonight in Washington. Bobrovsky is 4-4-0 with a 2.91 GAA and .916 SV% on the road this season.
Darling allowed two goals on 24 shots in the Blackhawks win over New Jersey on Tuesday. He has once again supplanted Antti Raanta as the Hawks temporary starter while Corey Crawford is out. Darling has won two straight with a 1.44 GAA and .947 SV%. He draws a tough matchup tonight vs.the Bruins, but the Hawks are rolling right now.
