Peterka (concussion) will return on Wednesday in Pittsburgh.

Peterka has missed two straight games due to a concussion but has been practicing with the team for a week and will return to the lineup on Wednesday. The 22-year-old Peterka broke out last season with 50 points (28G / 22A) in 82 games. He is expected to suit up on the Sabres' top line with Tage Thompson and Alex Tuch.

Tavares (illness) will return on Wednesday vs. Los Angeles.

Tavares did not play on Saturday against the Penguins due to an illness but was back at practice as a full participant on Tuesday and will return to his usual spot in the lineup on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Kings. He has one point (0G / 1A) in two games so far this season.

Nylander (illness) will be a game-time decision on Wednesday vs. Los Angeles.

Nylander was absent from practice on Tuesday due to an illness and was replaced by Max Pacioretty on Toronto's top powerplay unit in his absence. Nylander has two points (2G / 0A) in three games this season could be available to return to the lineup when the Maple Leafs return to the ice on Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Kings.

Toews (lower-body) is a game-time decision on Wednesday vs. Boston.

Toews was a surprise scratch before Monday's contest against the New York Islanders, with his absence not being announced before warmups. Oliver Kylington drew into the lineup as his replacement. If Toews cannot suit again, it will be a major blow for the Avalanche, one of only four clubs without a win this season (0-3-0).

Dunn is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, did not play on Sunday, but looks set to return on Tuesday against the Nashville Predators. Dunn has started the season with a goal and two points through the first two games while averaging 21:22 TOI/GP.

Durzi (upper-body) will be out for the foreseeable future and is without a timetable to return.

Durzi played only 9:09 time-on-ice before exiting Monday's game against the New Jersey Devils with an upper-body injury. The 26-year-old defenseman was off to a strong start to the season, with two points (0G / 2A), 11 blocks, and seven penalty minutes in three games.

Dunn is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, did not play on Sunday, and is questionable for Tuesday against the Nashville Predators. Dunn has started the season with a goal and two points through the first two games while averaging 21:22 TOI/GP. Josh Mahura was Dunn's replacement on Sunday against the Dallas Stars.

Dumba (lower-body) is out week-to-week.

Dumba will not require surgery but will be out of the lineup on a week-to-week basis. He exited Saturday's 3-0 win over the New York Islanders after playing only 6:02 time-on-ice and was replaced by Brendan Smith in the lineup on Sunday. The Stars have also recalled Alex Petrovic from the Texas Stars (AHL) for additional depth on the back end in Dumba's absence.

Seguin is off to a strong start to the 2024-25 campaign, scoring three points (2G / 1A) in his first three games but will sit out on Tuesday due to a lower-body injury. Mavrik Bourque will make his season debut by replacing Seguin.

Bourque was the 2023-24 AHL points leader with 77 (26G / 51A) in 71 games and was projected to crack the opening night roster for Dallas before suffering an undisclosed injury that caused him to exit the team's final preseason game. The 22-year-old Bourque was expected to play on a line with Jamie Benn and fellow rookie Logan Stankoven. He makes his season debut as Tyler Seguin draws out of the lineup due to a lower-body injury.

Johansson (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision on Tuesday in St. Louis.

Johansson has gotten off to a hot start in the first two games of the season with two points but will be a game-time decision again on Tuesday in St. Louis. The 34-year-old was a game-time decision on Sunday but ended up playing 14:57 time-on-ice.

After missing 66 games in 2023-24 due to injury, Jared Spurgeon will unfortunately miss his second straight game of the 2024-25 campaign due to a lower-body injury suffered on Saturday. The 34-year-old was replaced by Declan Chisholm (illness) on Sunday.

Eriksson Ek (broken nose) will remain out on Tuesday in St. Louis.

Originally expected to return on Tuesday, Eriksson Ek will remain out of the lineup for at least one more game. Eriksson Ek did not travel with Minnesota for the start of their seven-game road trip after he took an elbow to the face from Adam Larsson in the second period and went to the locker room in Saturday's game. He missed the final 12:45 of the period before returning to the game in the third period with a full face shield. He only played one shift, though, and left the game again and did not return.
