On Tuesday, the Minnesota Frost announced that the team has signed forward Anna Segedi to a two-year contract that will carry through the 2026-27 season.

Segedi was taken by the Frost in the third round, 22nd overall, of the 2025 PWHL Draft. She followed up Minnesota’s first two picks – Kendall Cooper and former St. Lawrence teammate Abby Hustler.

“I’m incredibly excited to have signed and to officially start my pro career with the Frost,” Segedi said in a release.  “It’s an honor to join such an amazing organization, and I can’t wait to play in front of the amazing fans in Minnesota.”

The Commerce Township, Mich. native enters the pro ranks after a solid five years as a Saint. Segedi, who served as team captain last season, played a crucial role in helping St. Lawrence advance to the NCAA Tournament in each of the past two campaigns, ultimately being eliminated in the quarterfinals each time.

Segedi’s best individual performance came during her senior season in 2023-24, where she posted career highs in goals (18), assists (21) and points (39), finishing third on the team in scoring behind Hustler and current PWHL Seattle forward Julia Gosling. It ended up being the only time Segedi was a point-a-game player in her college career.

In 164 games with the Saints, Segedi scored 54 goals and 65 assists for 119 points, earning All-ECAC Third-Team honors in her final two years with the program.

Segedi also has some significant experience on the international stage. As she is of Chinese descent, she was able to represent China at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Her efforts that spring, at the 2022 IIHF Division 1B Women’s World Championship, helped China win the gold medal. At the D1A championship the following year, China earned promotion to the top division at the Women’s Worlds for the first time since 2008. Segedi scored 12 points in 10 games across the two tournaments.

With Segedi’s signing, the Frost have 19 of a possible 23 players signed to standard contracts for the 2025-26 season.
