The San Jose Shark signed forward Tyler Toffoli to a four-year, $24 million deal, according to Daily Faceoff insider Frank Seravalli.

Last season, Toffoli scored 33 goals and 22 assists for 55 points in 79 games with the New Jersey Devils and Winnipeg Jets. During the Jets’ playoff run, he scored two goals and five games.

In 12 NHL seasons, Toffoli has 260 goals and 261 assists for 521 points in 812 career regular-season games with the Jets, Devils, Calgary Flames, Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks and Los Angeles Kings.

Toffoli won a Stanley Cup with the Kings in 2013-14.

His best offensive season came in 2022-23 with the Flames, scoring 34 goals and 39 assists for 73 points. He’s hit the 30-goal mark three times in his career.

Daily Faceoff writer Mike Gould wrote ahead of free agency that Toffoli might be one of the best value signings teams could make.

“He’s never been the strongest skater or the most imposing physical presence — far from it — but Toffoli has always displayed high-end hockey sense and the ability to shoot the puck like few others in the league,” Gould said. “He surpassed the 250-goal and 500-point marks for his career while with the Devils in the 2023-24 season.”

“Despite his newfound journeyman status, Toffoli just kept producing like a star wherever he went. He scored more goals than any other Canadien in 2020-21, than any other Flame in 2022-23, and would’ve led the Devils this past year had he not been traded to Winnipeg.”

Toffoli slotted at No. 16 in Daily Faceoff insider Frank Seravalli’s Top 75 pending free agents, and AFP Analytics properly projected him to sign a four-year, $6M AAV deal.
