Scheel has been recalled from Texas (AHL) to serve as Jake Oettinger's backup on Saturday.
With Braden Holtby unavailable, Scheel will backup Oettinger vs. the Rangers. The 22-year-old netminder has gone 7-6-6 with a 2.91 GAA and .901 SV% in 22 AHL games this season.
